How to forgive someone (without facing them)?

When we forgive someone we are not giving them a favor but what we are doing is a service to ourselves. When we forgive someone we release all the resentment, anger, and hurt-like emotions from our life and allow us the freedom that we denied ourselves when we were more focused on our past.

The fun part is that you do not need to face the other person while forgiving them, although that’s a bold move and always welcome but you need not do that. You just need to clear out your energy of the past and bring your focus to the present moment. Before we move further let’s know what happens when we do not forgive.

What happens when we do not forgive?

Forgiveness is the act of the brave ones only but there are times when we have a hard time going past their betrayal or hurt, it’s then only when we start to resent those people and situations. It makes it harder to move on and let go. This resentment if practiced longer becomes our state of being. Sometimes people don’t even know that they’re holding grudges against someone because those thoughts and emotions feel so familiar that if they don’t feel them for one day, their bodies start to tell them that something is wrong and they need to feel and think something.

When we do not forgive we block our energy centers. There are various energy centers in our body that help the life force energy to move freely in our body. When these energy centers are open we are in our creative power or in other words, we create or manifest easily, and our bodies heal easily.
But when these energy centers are blocked we trap energy into our lower centers which makes the body weak and more prone to illness. This also lowers our vibration and manifestation becomes hard. So it becomes crucial to free our body from past-based thoughts and emotions.

How to Forgive?

Awareness

The first and foremost step to forgiving someone is to become aware of your thoughts and emotions and what stories are running in your head that are stopping you from letting go. Become aware of them and notice how similar all your thought patterns are. It’s like an endless loop, once you fall into it, you can’t get out unless a conscious choice is made.
Consciously observe how the mind is making you remember the stories and feel those emotions. When we observe our thoughts and emotions we get out of this loop and realize that we have free will and that we can move past that situation.

Journal

The habit of Journaling helps a lot when you don’t know what you’re thinking and feeling or when your energy is scattered. So to return your focus to your body, Journaling comes into play. Ask yourself how I feel right now and why. Don’t repeat the story, just become aware of how your body is reacting and jot it down in your journal. Keep asking why I am feeling this way and soon you will start to clear your inner dilemma. (You can order my minimal day and night Journal here.)

Meditation

This meditation has helped me a lot and I’ve seen the changes right in front of me. It’s a beautiful guided meditation where you free yourself and the other person from everything that has happened in the past. You will see the changes in the behavior of other people in a day or two. So I highly recommend you try this. The link is here.

Ho’oponopono

When it comes to forgiveness, ho’oponopono is the favorite practice of spiritual people. As per this practice, our reality is our mirror reflection thus there is a possibility that there might have been something in our energetic field that led the other person to take such action. So in this practice we take responsibility for our energy and repeat these words:
I am sorry.
Please forgive me.
Thank you.
I love you.
What we are doing here is that we are releasing another person and seeing them in their Christ form. It’s a beautiful practice and if practiced daily, can bring miracles to your life.

There’s a way out, we are not the victims of our reality but creators. But when we keep looking at the past, we keep creating the same future. So, if you want to create a new reality, you need to let go of the past and return your attention to the present moment where endless possibilities lay.
