It is important to have a self care ritual for Highly Sensitive People for the February full moon
A full moon comes with an opportunity to bring clarity to our lives, especially for Highly Sensitive people. All that is suppressed is compelled by the sacred moon to come out. This February full moon is scheduled for the 24th, also known as the Snow moon. So all the highly sensitive persons out there, be prepared.
What should Highly Sensitive People expect?
Our senses are going to get heightened and a slight thing is enough to trigger strong emotions. February’s full moon wants us to release the old and start anew. So all that has been lying suppressed will come out in full force. It will make you go within and face your darkest part.
If you have observed your behavior this week, you might have noticed that you have been feeling more aroused or hormonal than your usual behavior.
People around you might be on edge too so make sure you do not take everything personally. Forgive them, they are naive humans.
Self-care ritual for February full moon
Full moons can be too much so it is important to have a self care ritual that helps you to slow down and embrace the journey.
Take rest
Since you are feeling not only your emotions but people around you, it’s okay to take a little extra rest. Do not feel ashamed for demanding space when your body demands it. Make yourself a priority too.
Sleep
Sleep is considered the best meditation. It is going to soothe your already sensitive mind from getting triggered. I have observed that highly sensitive people hold great shame for oversleeping. They feel they are disappointing people by demanding extra hours for themselves. Hold on HSP, you are doing nothing wrong. You don’t owe anything to anyone. You are allowed to take a break whenever you want. They don’t know about the things your sensitive mind goes through every single day so forgive them and love yourself for being so brave.
Make boundaries
Highly Sensitive people think that it is their responsibility to calm people around them. And to do so they take everything thrown at them just to make sure people around them feel less tense. The full moon is going to keep people on edge, although you know the reason but some might not. But this doesn’t mean they are going to run over you. I would suggest you settle boundaries so that they do not overstep and make you feel any less. You are important, HSP, your emotions do matter.
Allow yourself to feel
Highly sensitive people think that if they show emotions they are going to look weak and people will judge them so they cocoon themselves in the dark where no one can see them. No need to hold yourself back anymore. Release your suppressed emotions, let it all come out. This full moon wants you to release old and start with a clean slate. Journal more, if needed express yourself to people around you about how you feel. It is okay if you want to feel angry, it won’t make you a bad person. Your thoughts and emotions hold as much value.
Meditate
Practice meditation for a few minutes so that you can become aware of what is happening around and within you. Mind has this amazing ability to make us believe that we are powerless. But in reality, it’s us who hold all the power. Meditation is going to help you realize that all is just an illusion. If you just observe your thoughts and emotions from a neutral point, they will eventually dissolve.
We are spiritual beings having this human experience. The full moon is here as a reminder so that we embrace our human self and let the divine light shine upon us. It’s a reminder to forgive, let go of the old, and prepare ourselves for a new journey. It’s a perfect opportunity for highly sensitive people to come out and embrace their individuality.
