My body will start to tell me to do something to make people feel better or just run from that situation so that it can feel safe again. Sounds familiar? If you’re an empath you might have faced emotional turmoil that you didn’t even sign for, yet it hit you so deeply that you start to choose the confines of your room rather than the people around you. But first of all, who are empaths?

When you ground your attention in your inner body, you call your energy back from other places. Start by observing the sensations around your hands, and your fingers. Or you can simply go within your inner body and start to sense the energy that keeps us all alive. Just by sensing your inner body and observing how it feels, you tap out of others.
Bonus tip: when you’re in the spectrum of your body, you manifest more quickly.

Journal

Minimal Journal for empaths

When you are tapping in and out of people’s energy, your energy gets jumbled, and your thoughts and emotions go all over the place. So it becomes important to center your energy back and another best way to do so is journal. Journal your thoughts and emotions down. You can go within your body and ask yourself How it feels right now. Do not answer it from your mind but with your body.

Nature has this ability to ground everything around it to its true state. Whenever I feel drained or feel like I’m stuck in a box, nature saves my day. A few minutes walk brings me near to my higher self and boosts my morale.

Whenever I get stuck in this loop of fear and anger which I absorbed from my surroundings, I return to this meditation. There are a lot of heart space-guided meditations out there that you can follow but here’s how to do this:
Take a deep breath and relax your body down.
Now bring your attention to your heart center and feel the space around it, sense the energy around it. Feel it until you feel that spark of energy in your heart center.
Bonus tip: if you start to feel pressure in your head, relax your body again and feel your heart center and become One with that pressure. Don’t judge it, question it, or try to get rid of it. Let it be there.
Now feel love in your heart, keep pouring love wherever you feel pressure in your body. No judgments, love every part of you. If your mind gets angry and says, I don’t want to think but there are still thoughts, then pour love from your heart into those sensations too. Keep doing. Whatever triggers your brain, you pour love into it.

Self Awareness

As an empath, it is important to understand that when we tap into other people’s energy that energy becomes a part of ourselves. We continue to behave in the same way, in fear or anger that we can’t even differentiate if we are really angry or if it’s just a pattern of behavior. Thus self-awareness becomes important.
Track your behavior, if you are someone who gets angry easily, observe when it does happen and how you react at that time. So the next time the situation arises, you do not go completely unconscious by your anger.

Mind has an amazing ability to record the past and the body is good at recording your emotional reactions to those past scenarios. Empaths must learn how to navigate through other people’s energy as their minds are a lot more sensitive than others thus they get caught up in the emotional drama of people around them more than their own. It leads to more exhaustion and shutoff of their bodies. It’s better to get help from experts when needed. Remember you are not alone in this.
